Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Red Lorry Yellow Lorry Red Lorry Yellow Lorry...

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Chance

This is a monster made from twisted feedback and the results of an experiment involving the melding together at a molecular level of Big Black, Wire and the Sisters of Mercy...
But that guitar, god that guitar.... Love It!.
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry were formed in the mighty bastion of all things gothic...
Leeds (commonly known as Gotham City back in the day).
They released their first record in 1982, but this track is taken from a single they released in 1985, and soon became a favourite in every industrial/goth/rock/alternative club in the land, and also became a massive closer for the band live.
Incendiary.
But that guitar, god that guitar.... Love It!.

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Wide Awake (Only Dreaming) Version 2.

Jump forward a few years to 1988 and The Lorries had mellowed a little when it came to the guitars, not as edgy or in your face, but they still had some corking songs in their repertoire....
Unashamedly dour, yes, but still a great little pop song, well about as poppy as they ever got I guess, actually, it's not really pop is it lets face it....
This is taken from the 12" of the single......
But that bass, god that bass.... Love It!.

Both these tracks can be found on the new best of compilation released on the 19th of May in the US, but was released this Monday (9th) in the UK, although I'm not sure if the version of Wide Awake is this version or the single/album version, guess I'll find out when I get it.

The Lorries are back now with a new live DVD filmed at 3 shows last year, and a forthcoming brand new studio album.
