I'm Gonna Kick Yo Ass....

R.L. Burnside (& Mr. J.Spencer) - Snake Drive

The Neckbones - Crack Whore Blues

What was that thing the other year? Martin Scorscese Presents the Blues? Something like that.
Top drawer Directors, Mike Leigh, Wim Wenders, yadda yadda yadda.

Of course, they should have just posted a camera over to the boys at Fat Possum Records and let them get on with it. They're great. While everybody else is getting reverential over stuff they're getting drunk and having a bash at Whole Lotta Rosie.
In a shed.
The last part is true.
They record in a shed.
Or at least they did.
Or so I was told.

Anyway - there have some blinding cheapo samplers kicking around, "Not The Same Old Blues Crap Vols 1 to 3" and "All Men Are Liars". I can't tell you how much fun they are and believe me you need fun if you sit around listening to the likes of Skip James. He's great, but not all the time.

Buy them, play them loud, get drunk, grin.

Life is pretty good, you know.

Buy - Not the Same Old Blues Crap
Buy - Not the Same Old Blues Crap II
Buy - Not the Same Old Blues Crap III
Buy - All Men Are Liars
Visit - Fat Possum Records

And it looks like they didn't wait to be asked: they've already made a documentary, "You See Me Laughin' ".

Mike.
