Created

Well, ive been doing this for one month now (along with Rowche), and after a slow start things are picking up,

So thanks to everyone whose been reading and an even bigger thanks to those who've left comments.

And to show our gratitude.... Some Creation related tunes

The Creation - How Does It Feel To Feel?

This is the vastly superior U.S. version as opposed to the weedy U.K. version...

seemingly it was decided that the feedback was considered to raucous for British ears...?

This is a wonderful slab of noisey Mod Garage recorded in 1967 and released as a 7" on Polydor.

The Creation never had any success at the time and pretty much vanished without being heard of again until the early eighties when several bands named themselves after their songs or cited them as influences.

The ultimate tribute though came when Alan McGee (who's first band Biff Bang Pow was named after a Creation song) named his record label after them, Creation Records... home of My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream, Ride (who also covered this song), Slowdive, Swervedriver, House of Love, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Super Furry Animals, Boo Radleys, Teenage Fanclub.... the list is almost endless.

So when The Creation briefly reformed in the mid nineties it seemed only natural that they should play at the Creation Records 10th aniversary bash at the Royal Albert Hall, so they did.

Check out the Our Music Is Red With Purple Flashes compilation which has both the U.S. and U.K. versions on it

The Jesus And Mary Chain - Vegetable Man

This is the B-side of "Upside Down", the only single they recorded for Creation in 1984 (20 years ago.... Bloody Hell!!)

It's a feedback drenched scuzzy version of an early Pink Floyd song penned by the genius that is Syd Barrett, which sadly never saw the light of day as the rest of Pink Floyd (and the record label) thought it was too weird... Pussies. (was their loss though as Syd went on to record two absolutly brilliant solo albums before becoming a recluse, and did Pink Floyd ever record anything of any worth post Syd... NOPE... they might be millionaires but they have no integrity... sorry, getting off topic here)Ahem!!

Anyway, just listen to the tune, it's great.

Slowdive - When The Sun Hits

God this song is beautiful...

I very strongly urge you to buy Souvlaki, you won't regret it... honest.

Rachel, Neil and Ian are still recording as the Mojave 3, and Rachel has not long released Waves Are Universal, her first solo Album.

Did I mention you should buy Souvlaki...
