Declinate...

The Harvey Girls - Lazlo Buddy

Those wonderful Harvey Girls have been at it again...
'Declinate' is the culmination of a year and a half of recording across three time zones, the guitars bend, the keyboards stand still, and the lyrics move from impression to declaration.

There is also a rather wonderful and quite frankly very moving recording of 'Whispering Hope' included.
The song was originally written in 1868, but Hiram's Grandmother and sisters recorded it in 1941, whereupon it has been copied direct from the old scratchy 78rpm record.
It's one of the most hauntingly beautiful things I've ever heard.

The whole EP can be downloaded for an absolute bargain at just £1.00, and all proceeds of this lovely EP will be donated to the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN).
So not only do you get some great music, but your hard earned cash is going to a very very good cause.

The Harvey Girls are Hiram Lucke and Melissa Rodenbeek who have been making music for a few years now. They are also just the most lovely people, and as a bonus they make great music.
Last year they recorded a cover versions album called 'Our History is Your Kitsch' featuring their take on songs such as Billy Idol's White Wedding, Bad Brains' Sailin' On and The Flaming Lips classic Take Meta Mars amongst others.
But my absolute favourite is their cracking version of Q Lazzarus' Goodbye Horses...

You can download and love the whole album for free, but I'd recommend leaving a little donation via one of the linkys there.
